Threadbear
John Davis as most of us know has a new workshop, shop and well stocked wood store in Stockbridge. Occupying the floor above is Threadbear a craft shop with some beautiful items on display; classes are held here regularly covering pretty much every type of hands on craft there is including lace making, beading, weaving, card making and the like. So while the fellows are drooling over the lathes and accessories down stairs the ladies can browse the Threadbear shop upstairs. Julie and her friends will make you very welcome and will be more than happy to explain what it is they do there.
This year's diary includes;
Beginning in April and over Easter is the Embroiderers' Guild exhibition and demonstrations.
May; Hand Weavers exhibition, displaying the creations from several types of loom.
And at Johns Wood fair there will be spinners and weavers.
With both these past times under one roof it makes an ideal place to visit for a casual look around and chat about the things you find there. They are all very friendly to the point that they will even make you a cup of something hot to drink, but they would like to make it clear that you only get free tea if you come armed with Chocolate Brownies!
For the address or contact details see John or Julie's websites.
