Through popular demand, we the Forest of Bere wood turners invite you all where ever
you are to have a go at our monthly turning project, each month at our club there is
a set piece to turn and we are inviting you all to try it to. Each project is designed
to stretch the imagination and skills of all turners from the novice to the advanced turner.
There will be no judging as we do on a club night but you will
I hope send in your pictures so we can see how you interpreted the concept of the project.
One or more of your pictures plus your comments will be posted so others can learn from your experience perhaps. The June 2007 competition projects were:- Beginners; - A string operated spinning top with a turned handle. Intermediate and advanced; - Two turned boxes joined in a non standard "original" way. All projects set by Ken Briffett This whole idea came from a conversation with Linda Karr, a visitor to the UK from California and spent the day talking and turning with three club members. She saw the competition as an opportunity to stretch her imagination, Linda has decided to take the challenge each month with us and send in her pictures. Below is part of her email; - Hello Mick;So there it is, it's all down to you now, for details of our monthly projects click go to the Club Diary You pictures will be on line after the relevant club night so we are not influenced by your ideas, but if you have any questions then by all means contact us. I look forward to your emails. |
