Another good Saturday morning

The hall was set up this Friday evening as usual and I've just come back from there, I would hopefully be at the hall early enough in the morning to chat a bit and then get to practice what I was about to turn with the under twelve's, as of this moment in time I have absolutely no idea what we where going to do. Don Eric, Ken and Dave are working with the others and are fine but at the moment I'm working with 8 under 12 members and we don't do big projects, just quick fun spindle turned things with little or no sanding.
The following morning.
But I'm up with the lark this morning and inspiration has struck, I've thought of a couple of fun things, a whizzer and a string & bead game called Ox & Yoke so Ill offer that to them and see what happens, as you can tell I'm writing this first part before the meeting so in four hours time I shall know if it's a winner.
After the morning meeting.
As does so often happen after a chat about this and that and say hello it was time to start so again no practice, but as you can expect it was another brilliant morning, Ron was working hard supervising the computer, the older lads were working on their three legged stool and the younger ones doing craft work and turning, Emily finished her bowl gouge handle and signed it, Kayleigh turned an apple core and Jordan turned the main part of the two bead puzzle, the beads I expect will be turned in my workshop, Jordan was a bit disappointed because having made it and strung it up using washers temporarily nobody could do it so it looked like a lost cause. Since then Angy remembered and showed me and now at least 2 of us know how to do it, I'm hoping to get a presentable working piece ready for our Open Weekend next week as I'm sure young Jordan will really enjoy challenging people to work it out.
Angy had various weaving frames with her today and it caught the attention of the most unlikely people, it just proves that if you give people the opportunity they take it. The juniors to date have turned a good number of tool handles so we now have a nice selection to use, some of them signed theirs using pyrography this morning, they belong to the club but the members have tuned and fitted the handles.
As seems to be the case every meeting we are turning right up until the time we pack up, there just isn't enough time, we really could do with more as it goes so quick. The cards were handed back to Colin and the last few things said and they gather their things and went, Rob stayed on and helped me pack my things away as the others cleared the hall and there goes another brilliant Saturday meeting.
