Tonight was a turn-in evening, especially booked in immediately after our Open Weekend, the reason being we draw the members raffle tonight, while I'm on the subject lets deal with it here and now, Colin our club treasurer has for months now carried back and forth all the accumulated prizes donated to this worthy cause, he has generated some prizes him self from related companies so well done to him, the many others have come from the very generous club members so many thanks to them, Kim's number was first out of the drum and he was well pleased, it took most of our tea break to get through all the prizes we had.

So Don opened the evening and said a few words, then Bill introduced tonight's turners and we where away, the tea and coffee was up and running and the chat began, the café area was busy with members discussing various things, while Eric studied the competition entries quietly. We had a couple of things on the gallery table and my box of tea bags I accidentally left their by mistake raised some questions to, you have to laugh don't you, so who knows, I may do something similar again? We had a number of new members tonight from our open weekend event, and with one other accepted just yesterday that's the membership full, anybody else interested sadly will have to go on the waiting list, its good we have a full compliment but sad that we can't take any more, a situation I don't think the club has ever been in ever before.

The lathes and talking points were busy, Bill now manages the turn-in's and as always has a good variety of interesting subjects on offer, well done Bill, another task taken away from our ever busy chairman. We had as I said the Open Weekend raffle at the mid evening break and the evening's raffle at the end of the night all sorted by Trevor. Don called out the competition results and the last minute news items and all too quick the evening was over, the new members enjoyed their first visit and made some useful contacts. So with the hall swept clean and the kitchen tidy its lights off and the doors locked, and their goes another good club night.
