My minds a total blank, I've been very busy at work plus loads of personal things, Environmental Forum, and other local issues, meetings and the like and long hours at work, I now have a pile of 5 turning books to review for this site, 3 others I gave to Derek as I knew it was going to mount up and I know I should put finger to keyboard and get our last meeting and Master class into a document and on the web site. Normally I leave it till I'm in the right mood and it pretty much writes its self, well it has to, I don't make notes anymore. But at this moment in time there's nothing but me a cup of tea and a blank screen. 3 minutes later…….

Colin Simpson, of course, traffic held up on the motorway, raining, and a buckled old bowl for my entry in the competition, it's all coming back now, tuff, I had enough of today so I'm of for a late night bite to eat and then bed, I've got my reminder written now so when I come back it'll be as easy as turning a perfect bead! aaaagh flip.

Later that week!....The hall was buzzing with loads of turning talk, cups of tea and coffee and some beautiful turned pieces on display, with everything set up Don opened the meeting, the usual bits of info and then he asked me if I had anything, "nop, not me", I said, this caused some disturbing calls from the waiting audience, cant think why, so Don then welcomed Colin Simpson and handed over to him.

Colin introduced him self and after giving us a choice of demo's proceeded to show us, he turned two quite basic projects but showed some interesting ways of doing so, what I found interesting was the number of handy bits of information I hadn't heard at a demo before, some of which has encouraged me to do more research into them, that's the clever bit, to get the audience to follow up on something you said when they are at home. He mentioned he does a bit of writing and travels a bit doing his demonstrations, so quite a busy many by all accounts. There was the usual busy crowd around him during the break and far too quickly it was over, Don said a few kind words and then thanked Colin for our evening's demonstration, to which the audience applauded well.

We had the last few announcements and Don passed the hall over to me, well it had to be at sometime in the evening, it wouldn't be the same would it? I had stood all night watching the demo in front of our gallery table, on it where two beautifully turned pieces, there was no way I was going to let the evening go without congratulating the two turners, that would be a crime, so once again many thanks to Don Smith and Brian Mitchell for bringing in these pieces for us to see. And because of the moans and groans I got for having finally got up to say something I added some info about our Saturday club just to rub it in a bit.

Don then handed over to Trevor for the raffle while the hall was cleared, one number up this time for me. The hall was cleared, the last minute discussions done with and my note book full of things I promised to do, and with that we put the lights out and locked the doors, and there goes another good club night.
